How to be Save Message:
Now, lets look AT something else here in James 5:7–Be patient brethren, unto the coming of the Lord, Behold, the HUSBANDMAN waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
v8–Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.
v10–Take the prophets … for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.
v11–Behold, we count them happy which endure….
Now, he has gone from telling about the false, rich church— now he is giving the true people of God instructions. He keeps admonishing us to be patient in this kind of evil treatment by the rich, wicked church. See, back in v6–he had said the just did not resist the evil treatment from the rich evil church. The reason for this is they were obeying Jesus’ command not to resist evil; to turn the ‘other cheek’. For they knew our inheritance is not of this world.
Now to show you how to use the natural things in the Word to understand the spiritual: go to verse17–here we are told about Elias praying for it not to rain and it rained not for 3 1/2 years.
v18–And he prayed again, and the HEAVEN gave rain, and the EARTH brought forth her FRUIT.
Now compare this with verse 7–“the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth”: this shows that the ‘fruit’ of the ‘earth’ is the mature Christian— who has patiently endured all this evil treatment from the rich, evil church. They have overcome this false teaching to indulge in getting them ‘riches’. They did not partake of the ‘buying and selling’.
It shows the ‘heaven’ gave the rain—- this is the group of people who have the knowledge of the Word and can teach it to others. This is ‘watering’ as Paul taught. This is the ‘rain’. This is the moisture the plants need to mature and bear ‘fruit’.
This next mature group of true people of God, who have no interest in this ‘buying and selling’ in getting ‘riches of the world’, will again have the power from on high– to be WITNESSES OF GOD; this is the latter ‘rain’ he is patiently waiting for.
So, do not lose heart, patient saints; in due season you will ‘reap’ if you faint not.
